Mazinho Alves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dorival Chaves's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. In the 21st match minute, CGMS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Dorival Chaves might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mazinho Alves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorival Chaves made a kick off. If Dário da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. Adolfo Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maltide's Adolfo Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco Martins in the 90th minute of play.
