After 4 played minutes Manchester United F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Délio Saraiva. With 6 minutes on the clock, Renatinho de Souza commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 9th minute, Walmir Toledo made a precise shot to the right of Edu Coelho. Manchester United F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 12 played minutes ZURC FC got a freekick which was hit by Didi Lopez. Célio Travassos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flavinho Silveira's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Flavinho Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Célio Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Simão Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Manchester United F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Rubinho Medeiros came free, but Edu Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Manchester United F.C.'s Ademar Garcia broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 30 minutes of play, ZURC FC's Walmir Toledo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edu Coelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the match, Manchester United F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Walmir Toledo came free, but Edu Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edu Coelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Simão Coelho went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Edu Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Nogueira in the 41st minute of play. When Manchester United F.C.'s Flavinho Silveira in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ZURC FC's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavinho Silveira made a kick off. Flavinho Silveira struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Célio Travassos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United F.C.. Manchester United F.C.'s Isaltino Baptista managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Delfim Lopez in the 56 minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Manchester United F.C.'s Flavinho Silveira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Célio Travassos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Délio Saraiva had to leave the field with a concussion. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Walmir Toledo took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Edu Coelho to make any attempt to save it. Célio Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manchester United F.C.'s Edu Coelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Coelho in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Walmir Toledo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edu Coelho. The goal made the score 1-6. The crowd rose to their feet as ZURC FC's Walmir Toledo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edu Coelho. That made the score 1-7 after 79 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flavinho Silveira in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Travassos saved ZURC FC from getting behind. After having played for 88 minutes, Flavinho Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavinho Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edu Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubinho Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in ZURC FC's zone, Flavinho Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Travassos came out of the goal and Flavinho Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ZURC FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
