Barathinaikos's Valdo Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Eduardo Urbano in the 11th minute of play. Elói Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Valle having to interfere. With his leg Hernani Valle managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Barathinaikos's Elói Cardoso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Industrial AD's Cássio da Mata got a free kick in the 26th minute. Percy Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 30th minute of the match Cássio da Mata completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cássio da Mata a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 31 played minutes Industrial AD got a freekick which was hit by Cássio da Mata. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elói Cardoso in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hernani Valle saved Industrial AD from getting behind. Elói Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Hernani Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 41 minutes, Elói Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barathinaikos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elói Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Paulo Rossi hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The referee ignored Industrial AD's protests and gave Wellington Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. When Barathinaikos's Elói Cardoso in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
