The goalkeeper, Bruno Mazon, was totally fooled by Celeste SC's Maurício Gaspar, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. André Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Andrade in the 13th minute of the match. Reginaldo Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Furlan got free with Bruno Mazon in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the match, Mogi Mirim EC - FDFDF's goalkeeper Bruno Mazon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Júlio Furlan. When Mogi Mirim EC - FDFDF's Carlos Fernando Andrade in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a little luck, Mogi Mirim EC - FDFDF's Bruno Mazon got control of the ball when Júlio Furlan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Júlio Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bruno Mazon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute Reginaldo Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hílton Paraíba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Fernando Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Celeste SC's goalkeeper André Maranhense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Celeste SC's Basílio Moreira got a free kick in the 61st minute. Reginaldo Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Reginaldo Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Mogi Mirim EC - FDFDF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reginaldo Gerber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 76 in the game by Reginaldo Gerber from a close distance when the talented André Maranhense managed to make a qualified save. Celeste SC's players were relieved. In the 83rd minute, Carlos Fernando Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Fernando Andrade in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Maranhense saved Celeste SC from getting behind. André Maranhense made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Reginaldo Gerber sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Mogi Mirim EC - FDFDF booed when Celeste SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Mogi Mirim EC - FDFDF's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mogi Mirim EC - FDFDF may have spent more time on the ball, but Celeste SC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
