Itapuan AD's Alfredinho Sarmento got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute Alfredinho Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vivaldo de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinei Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Vivaldo de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Itapuan AD booed when Cue EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Augusto Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cue EC's zone, Claudinei Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo de Amorim came out of the goal and Claudinei Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Yan Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cue EC's protests and gave Yan Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. 44 minutes into the game, Alfredinho Sarmento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Vivaldo de Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geraldo Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. If Christian Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Veiga to make the kick off. Itapuan AD's Claudinei Ortiz got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinei Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredinho Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Vivaldo de Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapuan AD. Vivaldo de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredinho Sarmento in the 96th minute of the match. If Claudinei Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itapuan AD's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
