A collision led to Barrero SS getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Baltazar Maciel hit a great ball. Galicioli F.C's Thiago Veloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Galicioli F.C from getting a goal against them. Eugênio Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Baiano in the 12th minute of play. In the 14thth minute of the game Douglas Abreu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barrero SS's Eugênio Mesquita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Barrero SS booed when Galicioli F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Cavalcante in the 16th minute of play forced Galicioli F.C's goalkeeper Thiago Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Patrick Baiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eugênio Mesquita. Barrero SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrick Baiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 29th minute, Walmyr Pirani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 minutes Barrero SS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcinho Baiano who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Galicioli F.C's Marcinho Baiano to fire away a dangerous shot which Eugênio Mesquita despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Adhemar Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Eugênio Mesquita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick Baiano in the 37th minute of the match. Galicioli F.C's Benjamim Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47thth minute of the game Patrick Baiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barrero SS's Eugênio Mesquita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adhemar Cavalcante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Patrick Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Eugênio Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Mesquita having to interfere. Eugênio Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Galicioli F.C's Douglas Abreu suffered a concussion after 72 minutes and had to leave the field. When Walmyr Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barrero SS's protests and gave Walmyr Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Barrero SS! Eugênio Mesquita went to the wrong direction when Marcinho Baiano was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Benjamim Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galicioli F.C's protests and gave Benjamim Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th minute, Benjamim Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the match, Barrero SS's Walmyr Pirani broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 81 minutes, Flávio Valadares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barrero SS and the Galicioli F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Barrero SS getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Flávio Valadares hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Baiano in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugênio Mesquita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Patrick Baiano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Benjamim Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Mesquita having to interfere. Galicioli F.C's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
