The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Soledale SEC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelinho Leme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria de Queirós got free with Elano Faria in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Leme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Soledale SEC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tacare the free kick. Marcelinho Leme hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Wesley Zanette fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Elano Faria, passed just outside the right post. 18 minutes into the match, Soledale SEC's goalkeeper Elano Faria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wesley Zanette. Sandrinho Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá Paranaense in the 43rd minute of the match. The supporters of Soledale SEC booed when Tacare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Denílson Lopez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tacare's Sandrinho Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá Paranaense in the 46th minute of play. Sandrinho Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá Paranaense in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dadá Paranaense to make the kick off. When Zé Carlos Pimenta fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tacare's protests and gave Zé Carlos Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tacare's Zé Carlos Pimenta got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Dadá Paranaense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Sandrinho Cunha made a huge save. Antônio Carlos Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Elano Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafinha Linares in the 64th minute of play. The supporters of Tacare booed when Soledale SEC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Lopez in the 96th minute of play forced Tacare's goalkeeper Sandrinho Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Tacare players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
