The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Legião AlSufid's Valdomiro Brito got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Valdomiro Brito hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Jorginho Loureiro came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Legião AlSufid's Rômulo Tinoco. But to his dismay, Rômulo Tinoco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Jorginho Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Almeida in the 27th minute of play. Jorginho Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The supporters of Legião AlSufid booed when Red Nozes Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 minutes, Valdomiro Brito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Legião AlSufid and the Red Nozes Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorginho Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Vale in the 39th minute of play. In the 40thth minute of the game Rômulo Tinoco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Red Nozes Football Club's Jorginho Loureiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Red Nozes Football Club defense, Emanuel Vale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorginho Loureiro. The Red Nozes Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorginho Loureiro should have stopped the shot.

Júlio Berger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davi Mineiro scored 2-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Rômulo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the game, Emanuel Vale recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jorginho Loureiro. Emanuel Vale showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Júlio Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Emanuel Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rômulo Tinoco in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorginho Loureiro saved Red Nozes Football Club from getting behind. In the 71st minute, Haroldo Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Red Nozes Football Club's Adelino Secco got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Rômulo Tinoco fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Legião AlSufid's Júlio Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Tavares in the 79th minute of play. After 85 played minutes Red Nozes Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto de Amorim. A collision led to Red Nozes Football Club getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Felipe Trigo hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rômulo Tinoco in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorginho Loureiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Júlio Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Tavares in the 96th minute of play. Jorginho Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rômulo Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Legião AlSufid supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Legião AlSufid would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
