When Daniel Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Governador Sarney FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Teixeira couldn't finish the play. Valdir das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráuzio Breckenfeld having to interfere. Valdir das Neves struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Dráuzio Breckenfeld didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Governador Sarney FC. After 26 minutes, Valdir das Neves made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. II Vasco II's Dráuzio Breckenfeld tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. With an all-out effort, II Vasco II's Sidnei Vale threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manuel Leme, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Leme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valdir das Neves in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dráuzio Breckenfeld, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Geraldo Ortiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Dráuzio Breckenfeld made a huge save. Sidnei Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. If Bernardo Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdir das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dráuzio Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
