After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Afonsinho Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot. URANDI MZB's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonsinho Quadros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Víktor Ortiz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amílton Teles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Renato Aristizábal having to make a save. In the 12th match minute, Icatu SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelsinho Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. If Afonsinho Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Chico Cardoso notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of URANDI MZB's Renato Aristizábal. Renato Aristizábal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Afonsinho Quadros struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Víktor Ortiz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for URANDI MZB. After 23 minutes, Nelsinho Vinhas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Icatu SC and the URANDI MZB players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nelsinho Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Afonsinho Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renato Aristizábal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Renato Aristizábal made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Chico Cardoso sent off a good shot on target. If Afonsinho Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fabiano da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Renato Aristizábal managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Icatu SC's Chico Cardoso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. URANDI MZB's Renato Aristizábal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save URANDI MZB from getting a goal against them. Icatu SC's Chico Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano da Silveira in the 43rd minute of play forced URANDI MZB's goalkeeper Renato Aristizábal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Erik Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Renato Aristizábal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiano da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Chico Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonsinho Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Víktor Ortiz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Icatu SC's Nelsinho Vinhas got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Renato Aristizábal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico Cardoso in the 65th minute of the match. URANDI MZB's Renato Aristizábal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabiano da Silveira in the 66th minute of play. Nelsinho Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute, Chico Cardoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Icatu SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Chico Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Renato Aristizábal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 minutes of play, Icatu SC's Fabiano da Silveira made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Renato Aristizábal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patrick de Lima, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the URANDI MZB players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Icatu SC.
