Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Ultras E.C's Cláudio Rossi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Ultras E.C getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Cláudio Rossi hit a great ball. Jerônimo Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Laércio Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laércio Antunes came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Ultras E.C's Cláudio Rossi. But to his dismay, Cláudio Rossi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Jerônimo Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Laércio Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cláudio Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio Antunes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cláudio Rossi went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 42 minutes into the match, Guarani FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Rossi came free, but Laércio Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Caetano Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarani FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Caetano Salgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robinho Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Luiz Simões to make the kick off. Jerônimo Mattos struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Laércio Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ultras E.C. Laércio Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Rossi in the 54th minute of the match. Laércio Antunes came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Ultras E.C's Cláudio Rossi. But to his dismay, Cláudio Rossi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Ultras E.C's Robinho Linares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Ultras E.C from getting a goal against them. Cláudio Rossi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Laércio Antunes having to make a save. 65 minutes into the match, Jerônimo Mattos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laércio Antunes. Guarani FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerônimo Mattos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. If Caetano Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luiz Simões struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Robinho Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarani FC. In the 80th minute, Cláudio Rossi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laércio Antunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Gilmar Coutinho hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Laércio Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Luiz Simões in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robinho Linares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Caetano Salgado came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Guarani FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Salgado couldn't finish the play. Guarani FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
