Narciso da Cunha's late challenge caught a Ponta da Praia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ponta da Praia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizinho Velloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd of the match, Artemio Donio tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Jaime Catarinense got in the way and made a wonderful save. Noel Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Tiago Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
