A collision led to Ponta da Praia FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Gláuber de Sousa hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ponta da Praia FC's zone, Orlando Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiago Neves came out of the goal and Orlando Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute Orlando Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Donio, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Claudinho Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Gláuber de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Raúl Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Orlando Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Terra might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiago Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orlando Terra ran back to his position shaking his head. Luizinho Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso Sousa was the one to do the kick off. Raúl Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Velloso in the 53rd minute of the match. Orlando Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Neves having to interfere. The supporters of Houston FC booed when Ponta da Praia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexsandro de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ponta da Praia FC's Gláuber de Sousa got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 67th minute Artemio Donio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl Aguiar didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ponta da Praia FC's Artemio Donio shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. But to his dismay, Artemio Donio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a rather tough play, Houston FC's Fabrício Monteiro got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, Ponta da Praia FC's Alexsandro de Godoi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Artemio Donio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Orlando Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Tiago Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
