In the 30th minute Wiliam Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedrinho Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of E.C Santo André booed when Descalvado FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Eriberto Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Cido Mello hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Pedrinho Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Eriberto Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Descalvado FC's goalkeeper Eriberto Saraiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedrinho Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Saraiva having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Pedrinho Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wiliam Pernambucano couldn't finish the play.
