The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaboticabal Atletico's Agnaldo Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Moreno in the 4th minute of play. If Gilson Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Jaime Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético Riacho's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Moreno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agnaldo Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Murilo Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clube Atlético Riacho's Gilson Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Horácio Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Jaboticabal Atletico's goal looked a bit too open when Naldo Nunes came free, but Agnaldo Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Murilo Leal made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Horácio Branco sent off a good shot on target. After 23 minutes, Horácio Branco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jaboticabal Atletico and the Clube Atlético Riacho players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Jaboticabal Atletico getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Horácio Branco hit a great ball. Murilo Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júnior Fontes in the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Jaboticabal Atletico's Horácio Branco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murilo Leal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jaime Moreno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agnaldo Bittencourt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Agnaldo Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Horácio Branco lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Murilo Leal. After a rather tough play, Jaboticabal Atletico's Edgar Gerber got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute, Jaime Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaime Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Agnaldo Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Moreno to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Gilson Arce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atlético Riacho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jaboticabal Atletico the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Gilson Arce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horácio Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Murilo Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jaime Moreno came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Clube Atlético Riacho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Moreno couldn't finish the play. After 69 minutes, Horácio Branco made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Clube Atlético Riacho's Murilo Leal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rdth minute of the game Jaime Moreno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaboticabal Atletico's Agnaldo Bittencourt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jaboticabal Atletico's goalkeeper Agnaldo Bittencourt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 79 played minutes Clube Atlético Riacho got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Carneiro. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Jaime Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Moreno in the 86th minute of play forced Jaboticabal Atletico's goalkeeper Agnaldo Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Moreno let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 95th minute shot 3-1 at rihgt post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Clube Atlético Riacho players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Jaboticabal Atletico.
