Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Tarcisio Gomes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Bastos in the 9th minute of play forced Itui's goalkeeper Teodoro Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodoro Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Paulo José Brito might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodoro Paraense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo José Brito ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Oscar do Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodoro Paraense was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Itui defense, Oscar do Valle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teodoro Paraense. The Itui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodoro Paraense should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute, Dorian Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Oscar do Valle made a precise shot to the right of Teodoro Paraense. Itui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 38 minutes into the game, Romeu Baptista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Antoniao SS the free kick. Teodoro Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. A collision led to Antoniao SS getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Fausto Lago hit a great ball. Itui's Sebastião Severo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Antoniao SS. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar do Valle to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Oscar do Valle took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Teodoro Paraense to make any attempt to save it. Teodoro Paraense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar do Valle in the 57th minute of the match. With a little luck, Itui's Teodoro Paraense got control of the ball when Rui Bastos tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Itui getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Romeu Baptista hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinho Urbano during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teodoro Paraense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo de Barros in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute, Rui Bastos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Antoniao SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. 70 minutes into the match, Itui's goalkeeper Teodoro Paraense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Bastos. If Oscar do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar do Valle's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Antoniao SS's Marcelo de Barros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Teodoro Paraense. That made the score 0-6 after 77 minutes of play. Oscar do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Antoniao SS's Eduardo de Mendonça got a free kick in the 85th minute. Evaristo Cabral's late challenge caught a Antoniao SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Cabral helped the player get up and apologised. Evaristo Cabral hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Marcelo de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Teodoro Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Antoniao SS's zone, Raúl Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tarcisio Gomes came out of the goal and Raúl Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oscar do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Teodoro Paraense managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Antoniao SS's Marcelo de Barros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Fausto Lago fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Antoniao SS's protests and gave Fausto Lago a yellow card for diving instead. Fausto Lago hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Antoniao SS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
