Jarbas Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9thth minute of the game Eusébio Paraíba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fortaleza's Giuseppe Brasil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The AC Metropol fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when AC Metropol's Eusébio Paraíba looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Jarbas Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Metropol's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarbas Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giuseppe Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giuseppe Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Pinho in the 40th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Eusébio Paraíba put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Giuseppe Brasil. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusébio Paraíba was the one to do the kick off. Giuseppe Brasil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Fortaleza's Giuseppe Brasil got control of the ball when Eduardo Favoretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 96th minute, Patrick Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Fortaleza fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AC Metropol were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
