When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Carlos Eduardo Damião sped through Licio FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Celso Dias. In the 12th minute Naldo Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaltino Saraiva struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Benjamin Valladares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Licio FC. Licio FC's Celso Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Bertassi in the 21st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Luiz Paulo Cavalcante put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Benjamin Valladares. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Eduardo Damião in the 26th minute of play forced Licio FC's goalkeeper Celso Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Orlando Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Licio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Eduardo Damião came free, but Celso Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Eduardo Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Licio FC's Claudinei Bueno got a free kick in the 38th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Orlando Gerber to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Jonia AD getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Joélson Recife hit a great ball. Celso Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naldo Bertassi in the 56th minute of the match. Jonia AD's Naldo Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaltino Saraiva took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamin Valladares. Benjamin Valladares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 69th minute Naldo Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Licio FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Toninho Branco hit a great ball. In the 80th minute Orlando Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Jonia AD getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Laerte Paes hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute of the match Claudinei Bueno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Valladares skillfully saved the ball. Isaltino Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Valladares having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enéas Souza during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jonia AD's Enéas Souza got a free kick in the 85th minute. Carlos Eduardo Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Carlos Eduardo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcinho Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Celso Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
