Reducao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ademar Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Ademar Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeu Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademar Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Reducao's Rafa da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vitinho Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafa da Silva in the 22nd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ademar Gaspar sped through Reducao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tadeu Neiva. Tadeu Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilvan Guerra in the 29th minute of play. When Odaze's Gilvan Guerra in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Reducao's goalie prevented a goal. In the 40th match minute, Reducao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Esteves to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the game, Alan Paraibano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Odaze's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reducao the free kick. A collision led to Odaze getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Alan Paraibano hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rafa da Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marco Barros might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vitinho Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Barros ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 56th minute, Tadeu Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Odaze's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa da Silva came free, but Vitinho Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Reducao booed when Odaze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilvan Guerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeu Neiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilvan Guerra ran back to his position shaking his head. Ademar Gaspar scored 0-4 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tadeu Neiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeu Sena during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Tadeu Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ademar Gaspar struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Tadeu Neiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Odaze. After 75 minutes, Juvenal Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reducao and the Odaze players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, Juvenal Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Montenegro having to interfere. Ademar Gaspars short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Tadeu Neiva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 95 minutes, Gilvan Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Odaze's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilvan Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gilvan Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Odaze supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Odaze would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
