Mamanos Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléberson Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deivid de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Norberto Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game, Marcus Gomes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mamanos Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bangu Atletic Club the free kick. The supporters of Bangu Atletic Club booed when Mamanos Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldo Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Carioca in the 28th minute of the match. Bebeto Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Deivid de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 34 minutes of play, Bangu Atletic Club's Frank Neiva made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bangu Atletic Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mamanos Football Club the free kick. Frank Neiva hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ronaldo Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the game, one of Mamanos Football Club:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Francisco Carioca made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Mamanos Football Club's Norberto Cerezo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Deivid de Salles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mamanos Football Club reached it. Ronaldo Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Carioca in the 55th minute of the match. Frank Neiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Ronaldo Lira made a huge save. Anderson Vargas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Ronaldo Lira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Germano Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Germano Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes Mamanos Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Germano Gomes. Roger Cordeiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronaldo Lira firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cléberson Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deivid de Salles having to interfere.
