The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurinho Rossi got free with Olavo de Godoy in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romeu Meireles during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th match minute, CACIQUE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Meireles to maneuver through the defense. Chico Galvão struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Olavo de Godoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CACIQUE FC. Chico Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo de Godoy having to interfere. 13 minutes into the game, Chico Galvão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olavo de Godoy. Chico Galvão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 16 minutes of play CACIQUE FC's Romeu Meireles was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, CACIQUE FC's Romeu Meireles got a free kick in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, one of Apiahy:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Olavo de Godoy went to the wrong direction when Jardel Mesquita was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 21 minutes, Rafa Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Apiahy and the CACIQUE FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Apiahy getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Rafa Miranda hit a great ball. CACIQUE FC's Chico Galvão got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chico Galvão struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Olavo de Godoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CACIQUE FC. In the 37th play minute Maurinho Rossi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Olavo de Godoy. 2-0. Leonel Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maurinho Rossi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Betinho Lara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldo de Souza in the 54th minute. Eriberto de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Luís Fernando Batista struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Olavo de Godoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CACIQUE FC. After a defensive mix-up in Apiahy's zone, Luís Fernando Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo de Godoy came out of the goal and Luís Fernando Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurinho Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Olavo de Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurinho Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo de Godoy having to interfere. Olavo de Godoy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maurinho Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd match minute, Apiahy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. When Maurinho Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the CACIQUE FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurinho Rossi couldn't finish the play. Chico Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo de Godoy having to interfere. Luís Fernando Batista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olavo de Godoy having to make a save. If Maurinho Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CACIQUE FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
