When Faustão Baptista fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balaiada's protests and gave Faustão Baptista a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of GALO 13™ booed when Balaiada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustão Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renan Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Toledo in the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Balaiada getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Nilmar Barral hit a great ball. Balaiada's Ernesto Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jerônimo de Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Falcão Messias in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustão Baptista in the 32nd minute of play forced GALO 13™'s goalkeeper Renan Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerônimo de Queiroz made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Falcão Messias sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes into the match, Balaiada's goalkeeper Jerônimo de Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Falcão Messias. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernesto Toledo was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Balaiada got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Cardoso. Nilmar Barral might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renan Mangueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilmar Barral ran back to his position shaking his head. Falcão Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Faustão Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Renan Mangueira made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Balaiada's Laerte Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 81st minute. 85 minutes into the match, Balaiada's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Messias came free, but Jerônimo de Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 1-1 became the score in the 86th minute when Ernesto Toledo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Despite being the better team, GALO 13™ failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
