But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Çağrı Zübeyr couldn't finish the play. Segundo Romero struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Aníbal Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E C JUVENTUDE. 28 minutes into the match, Cumari EC's goalkeeper Aníbal Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oscar Siqueira. After having played for 34 minutes, Çağrı Zübeyr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E C JUVENTUDE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Çağrı Zübeyr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aníbal Mendes made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Çağrı Zübeyr sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute, Segundo Romero made a precise shot to the right of Aníbal Mendes. Cumari EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

E C JUVENTUDE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cumari EC the free kick. The Cumari EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aníbal Mendes should have stopped the shot. In the 82nd minute Çağrı Zübeyr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aníbal Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 played minutes Cumari EC got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Macedo. Segundo Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Çağrı Zübeyr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Aníbal Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aníbal Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Çağrı Zübeyr in the 95th minute of the match.
