Rodrigo Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Roberto Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Linhares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ezequiel Pinho went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Renatinho Ferreira fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iratinga AD's protests and gave Renatinho Ferreira a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Iratinga AD got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Ferreira. In the 15th minute Rodrigo Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Délio Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Ramón da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 21 minutes, Délio Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iratinga AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Délio Gaúcho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Délio Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Iratinga AD's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Mineiro came free, but Roberto Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Iratinga AD getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Luiz Fernando Andrade hit a great ball. Roberto Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 42 minutes into the game, João Augusto Silveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iratinga AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canoeira the free kick. João Augusto Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Rodrigo Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iratinga AD's goalkeeper Roberto Linhares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iratinga AD's Roberto Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Pinho in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 played minutes Iratinga AD got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Silveira. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rony Aparecido during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Iratinga AD booed when Canoeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Canoeira supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Canoeira would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
