In the 7th minute Giuseppe Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amauri Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12thth minute of the game Sabino Freire who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poimro's Jardel Ribeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th match minute, Recanto EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Velasco to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Recanto EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rui Terra fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 21 minutes into the match, Recanto EC's goalkeeper Amauri Perez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Pinho. A collision led to Recanto EC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Aluísio Sarmento hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Rui Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poimro's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amauri Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jardel Ribeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabino Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Alex Pinho made a precise shot to the right of Amauri Perez. Recanto EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rui Terra was the one to do the kick off. Poimro's Jardel Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Poimro from getting a goal against them. When Sabino Freire came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Recanto EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sabino Freire couldn't finish the play. Guilherme Mendonça was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 65thth minute of the game Rui Terra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Recanto EC's Amauri Perez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amauri Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Terra in the 66th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Recanto EC's Raúl Velasco got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Váldson Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rui Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Amauri Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amauri Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Pinho in the 77th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Recanto EC's zone, Alex Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amauri Perez came out of the goal and Alex Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Sabino Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rui Terra might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amauri Perez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rui Terra ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Recanto EC's José Pedro Koehler got a free kick in the 88th minute. Amauri Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Pinho in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, Poimro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Negri to maneuver through the defense. Recanto EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
