Artur Costa scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Percy de Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Artur Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luís Rosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lagoao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jaguatei AD the free kick. Sílvio Luís Rosa hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Pena in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Percy de Azevedo saved Jaguatei AD from getting behind. 14 minutes into the game, César Madureira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jaguatei AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lagoao the free kick. Artur Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the game, Lagoao's Artur Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Percy de Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to Jaguatei AD getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ronaldinho Freitas hit a great ball. César Madureira hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Costa in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Percy de Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ronaldinho Freitas's late challenge caught a Lagoao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldinho Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Jaguatei AD getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ronaldinho Freitas hit a great ball. After the first half Lagoao were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário Sampaio to make the kick off. Dráuzio Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percy de Azevedo was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Dráuzio Ribeiro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dráuzio Ribeiro really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. 64 minutes into the match, Jaguatei AD's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Costa came free, but Percy de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percy de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Costa in the 69th minute of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lagoao's goalkeeper Ademar Cabral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovani Pena during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Geovani Pena hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Jaguatei AD's César Madureira got his second yellow card of the match in the 90th minute. The referee ordered César Madureira off the ground. Dráuzio Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Percy de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
