David Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Tony do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Itaum EC's Edinho Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Corrêa in the 8th minute of play. Adriano Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Itaum EC's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Corrêa came free, but Edinho Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute Donato Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adriano Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Edinho Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donato Corrêa in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edinho Favoretto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Donato Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Edinho Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Vitinho Corrêa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Maurinho de Amaral hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The supporters of Quintaus AD booed when Itaum EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho de Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Vitinho Corrêa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Itaum EC's Edinho Favoretto didn't even have to move. Adriano Bertassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute, Maurinho de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edinho Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Corrêa in the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donato Corrêa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Donato Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, David Neiva put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tony do Vale.
