Antônio Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The audience was convinced that Afonsinho Vianna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chicão Félix was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Chicão Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonsinho Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Christiano Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Tasso in the 44th minute of play forced Sapecado's goalkeeper Chicão Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Yaurare walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
