Amadeu Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustão Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute, Dito Furtado made a precise shot to the right of Fernandinho do Nascimento. Bicudo SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Flavinho Fantini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogério Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Bicudo SC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Rogério Abreu hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Elivélton Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Bicudo SC's Vitinho Arósio got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Flavinho Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zé Roberto Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Amadeu Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Pimentel getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Marcos da Mata hit a great ball. Zé Roberto Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Amadeu Quadros made a huge save. Zé Roberto Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Álvaro Quintal fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pimentel's protests and gave Álvaro Quintal a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Pimentel got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Quintal. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Amadeu Quadros successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dito Furtado was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Pimentel's Dito Furtado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fernandinho do Nascimento. Fernandinho do Nascimento yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. After 62 minutes, Caco Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bicudo SC and the Pimentel players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Pimentel booed when Bicudo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caco Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pimentel's Duda da Silveira shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 64th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fernandinho do Nascimento but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Zé Roberto Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bicudo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Roberto Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Flavinho Fantini's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Fernandinho do Nascimento skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zé Roberto Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st match minute, Pimentel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elivélton Machado to maneuver through the defense. Faustão Linares might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeu Quadros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faustão Linares ran back to his position shaking his head. Dito Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Fernandinho do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faustão Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Quadros having to interfere. If Faustão Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pimentel's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
