After 14 played minutes Valdelandia got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Mumbach. Bernardinho Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Severino Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severino Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juninho Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Valdelandia's Mário Leite slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilian Leite. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. Paulo José Miranda was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Claraiba SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! In the 40th minute there was a penalty for Valdelandia. Paulo José Miranda stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Wilian Leite. 2-0. In the 46th minute Mário Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilian Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Agnaldo Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When Agnaldo Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Valdelandia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agnaldo Moraes couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Claraiba SS booed when Valdelandia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Bernardinho Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Claraiba SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardinho Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juninho Simões was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Claraiba SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
