Agnaldo Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Reynaldo Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynaldo Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Leite in the 7th minute of the match. Mário Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Moreno having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Valdelandia got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Mumbach. Eduardo Quirino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severino Maia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Valdelandia got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Mumbach. Severino Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Paulo da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. David Figueiredo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Severino Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Paulo da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reynaldo Moreno was a little too slow when Mário Leite got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Valdelandia's zone, Luiz Paulo da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Maia came out of the goal and Luiz Paulo da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reynaldo Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Leite in the 42nd minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Paulo da Costa to make the kick off. If Mário Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the game, Tiaguinho Bueno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marretas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valdelandia the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, Marretas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho Bueno to maneuver through the defense. Paulo José Miranda was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Mário Leite, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 56 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Reynaldo Moreno was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Luiz Paulo da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Valdelandia's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Paulo da Costa came free, but Severino Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Valdelandia's goalkeeper Severino Maia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luiz Paulo da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marretas's Reynaldo Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Leite in the 76th minute of play. During the 77th minute of the match Tiaguinho Bueno completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tiaguinho Bueno a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Marretas getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Tiaguinho Bueno hit a great ball. If Agnaldo Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eduardo Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Paulo Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Paulo Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 95 minutes, Agnaldo Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valdelandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agnaldo Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Marretas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Valdelandia.
