Refugiado AD's Cláudio Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Zé Carlos Lucas put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Emanuel Gaúcho. After 19 minutes, Lauro Vinhas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Refugiado AD and the Ballarz players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Refugiado AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Umberto Félix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umberto Félix couldn't finish the play. Zé Carlos Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Ballarz were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Zé Carlos Lucas made the kick off in the second half. Zé Carlos Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Emanuel Gaúcho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Emanuel Gaúcho had great luck who in the 92ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Zé Carlos Lucas from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The supporters of Ballarz booed when Refugiado AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Filipe Mattos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Refugiado AD's Emanuel Gaúcho didn't even have to move. Ballarz played a much better game than Refugiado AD and deserved their victory. The Refugiado AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
