The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Armacao SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton Trevisan came free, but Igor Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Silva in the 6th minute of play forced Armacao SC's goalkeeper Igor Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th match minute, Armacao SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Eduardo Souto to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the game, Recife Pe's Benedito Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Igor Vides made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Igor Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hílton Trevisan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Silva in the 16th minute of play forced Armacao SC's goalkeeper Igor Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Igor Vides stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hílton Trevisan's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. If Benedito Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hílton Trevisan in the 26th minute of play forced Armacao SC's goalkeeper Igor Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chico Quadros got free with Tomás Berger in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Armacao SC's goalkeeper Igor Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Igor Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Brito in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Recife Pe's Benedito Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Igor Vides narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Armacao SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton Trevisan came free, but Igor Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldinho Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedito Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Vides having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hílton Trevisan was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Armacao SC's zone, Hílton Trevisan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Vides came out of the goal and Hílton Trevisan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Recife Pe booed when Armacao SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Recife Pe's Benedito Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Benedito Silva fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With 59 minutes on the clock, Abelardo Neves commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Armacao SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Benedito Silva in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Igor Vides, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Chico Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Berger having to interfere. Recife Pe's Hílton Trevisan was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 71st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Nelson Brito hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Tomás Berger came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Armacao SC's Chico Quadros. But to his dismay, Chico Quadros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Igor Vides stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hílton Trevisan's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. A collision led to Armacao SC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Christian Trancoso hit a great ball. Chico Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Tomás Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st match minute, Armacao SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Benedito Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Vides having to interfere. If Hílton Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Recife Pe walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
