Cedrolandia's Juvenal Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Agostinho Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Ancuri SC's Dorival Passos managed to work through Cedrolandia's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Dorival Passos dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Fabrício Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorival Passos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Inácio de Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Inácio de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Passos in the 29th minute of play. Wilson Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juvenal Seco in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute Fabrício Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Cedrolandia booed when Ancuri SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 42 minutes Ancuri SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Agostinho Vergílio who took care of the corner kick. Bebeto Vides in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Wilson Leite, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
