The shot was stopped by Norberto Fernandes but with some difficulty. After 10 played minutes, Cecilia's Pedro Augusto Ferreira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Inácio de Toledo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cecilia reached it. If Bebeto Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the game, Anselmo Matos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cedrolandia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cecilia the free kick. In the 16th minute, Anselmo Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Aleandro Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Inácio de Toledo was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After having played for 20 minutes, Juvenal Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cedrolandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juvenal Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bebeto Vides struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Norberto Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cedrolandia. A collision led to Cecilia getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Aleandro Fonseca hit a great ball. Cecilia's Norberto Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Seco in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Juvenal Seco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Norberto Fernandes. Juvenal Seco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Bebeto Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Norberto Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Seco hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Cedrolandia's Inácio de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percy Barral in the 36th minute of play. Luiz Fabiano Andrade took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Inácio de Toledo. Cedrolandia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cedrolandia's goalkeeper Inácio de Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ediberto Fonseca might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inácio de Toledo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ediberto Fonseca ran back to his position shaking his head.

The wind increased when Juvenal Seco made the kick off in the second half. Ediberto Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ediberto Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Cecilia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ediberto Fonseca couldn't finish the play. If Percy Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio de Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Percy Barral in the 62nd minute. Ediberto Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio de Toledo having to interfere. Ediberto Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Inácio de Toledo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ediberto Fonseca showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 81 minute of play. Anselmo Matos was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
