The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Vasco da Gama Clube defense, Washington Soares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis Moreira. The Vasco da Gama Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis Moreira should have stopped the shot. Amadeu Maciel succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 8th playminute. Washington Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Régis Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the game, Alpinopolis's Washington Soares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Régis Moreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 21st minute Manuel Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dito Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Manuel Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caio Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Maciel scored 2-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dito Travassos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 31 minutes into the match, Amadeu Maciel notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Alpinopolis's Dito Travassos. Dito Travassos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 34th minute, Caio Coutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Alpinopolis defense, Amadeu Maciel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dito Travassos. The Alpinopolis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dito Travassos should have stopped the shot. Caio Coutinho took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Régis Moreira. Régis Moreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Dias made a kick off. After 55 played minutes Vasco da Gama Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gino de Andrade. 57 minutes into the match, Alpinopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Dias came free, but Dito Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Washington Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Régis Moreira having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caio Coutinho got free with Régis Moreira in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alpinopolis's Caio Coutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dito Travassos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amadeu Maciel went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-3 was the resulting score. Gino de Andrade was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Gino de Andrade hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Fiori Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Alpinopolis's Álvaro Sabóia suffered a fractured collar bone after 94 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Murillo Breckenfeld fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco da Gama Clube's protests and gave Murillo Breckenfeld a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Murillo Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 96 played minutes Alpinopolis got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Tepedino. Vasco da Gama Clube's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
