Alexandre Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juvenal Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Edu Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Juvenal Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osmar Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Viana in the 16th minute of play forced Beverini EC's goalkeeper João Paulo de Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juvenal Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Monjolo booed when Beverini EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osmar Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvaldo da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. João Paulo de Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalmo dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Edvaldo da Fonseca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Paulo de Godoy was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Monjolo's Alexandre Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Barreto in the 32nd minute of play. 34 minutes into the game, Osmar Lopez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Alexandre Braga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alexandre Braga came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Beverini EC's Dalmo dos Santos. But to his dismay, Dalmo dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. João Paulo de Godoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvaldo da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Beverini EC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alexandre Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osmar Lopez in the 58th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Monjolo's goalkeeper Alexandre Braga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juvenal Barreto. Beverini EC's João Paulo de Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Viana in the 66th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Beverini EC's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo da Fonseca came free, but João Paulo de Godoy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Beverini EC defense, Edu Viana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Paulo de Godoy. The Beverini EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Paulo de Godoy should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Juvenal Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beverini EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juvenal Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Braga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 83 played minutes Monjolo got a freekick which was hit by Faustão Melo. Sebastião Barbosa, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Osmar Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Braga having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Monjolo's zone, Juvenal Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Braga came out of the goal and Juvenal Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
