Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Vaquejador FC's Marcos Linares started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Pedro Almeida hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcos Linares in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dé Correia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 6 minutes into the game, Marcos Linares recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dé Correia. Marcos Linares showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Lino dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, NOVORIZONTINO's goal looked a bit too open when Fernão Pimenta came free, but Dé Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Luís Fábio Hermes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 25 played minutes Vaquejador FC got a freekick which was hit by Adhemar Macedo. When Michel Britto fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NOVORIZONTINO's protests and gave Michel Britto a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the NOVORIZONTINO defense, Fernão Pimenta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dé Correia. The NOVORIZONTINO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dé Correia should have stopped the shot. If Michel Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michel Britto to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Michel Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 played minutes NOVORIZONTINO got a freekick which was hit by Michel Britto. NOVORIZONTINO's Dé Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adhemar Macedo in the 56th minute of play. If Michel Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Vaquejador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Braga came free, but Osvaldinho Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michel Britto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Osvaldinho Arce having to make a save. 68 minutes into the match, Vaquejador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Britto came free, but Osvaldinho Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Percy Cardoso during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of NOVORIZONTINO booed when Vaquejador FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dé Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Linares in the 78th minute of play. During the 79th minute of the match Percy Cardoso completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Percy Cardoso a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A sloppy throw-in by Natanael Cavalcante in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by NOVORIZONTINO's João Augusto Dracena. After a defensive mix-up in NOVORIZONTINO's zone, Ronaldinho Netto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dé Correia came out of the goal and Ronaldinho Netto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vaquejador FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
