Tibúrcio do Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Vinhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. When Paulo Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Meriruma SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Vinhas couldn't finish the play. Mateus Favoretto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Meruoca's Edmundo Brasil got a free kick in the 17th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mateus Favoretto got free with Murillo Mandrak in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mateus Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Paulo Vinhas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tibúrcio do Valle was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Vinhas in the 29th minute of play forced Meruoca's goalkeeper Tibúrcio do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Meruoca's goal looked a bit too open when Armandinho Hermes came free, but Tibúrcio do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Meruoca's Tibúrcio do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho Hermes in the 39th minute of play. Paulo Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Armandinho Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armandinho Hermes in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tibúrcio do Valle saved Meruoca from getting behind.

In the 51st minute, Josué Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, Meriruma SC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Terra came free, but Murillo Mandrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, Paulo Vinhas lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Tibúrcio do Valle. Meriruma SC's Murillo Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateus Favoretto in the 73rd minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Meruoca's Mateus Favoretto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murillo Mandrak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Meriruma SC's Denílson Secco seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Denílson Secco the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Meriruma SC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Denílson Secco had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 82nd minute, one of Meriruma SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Meriruma SC. Waldemar Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waldemar Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute Luiz Fábio Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Mandrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 played minutes Meriruma SC got a freekick which was hit by Manfredo Catarinense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
