Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Danilo Nóbrega got the match started through his kick off. If William Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Paulo José Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egídio Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Danilo Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Egídio Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto de Andrade in the 20th minute of play. Sabino Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Eugenio's Danilo Nóbrega sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egídio Carioca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Manduri's William Simão got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 27th minute, William Simão fired away a sharp free kick straight at the goal. It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Afonsinho Alvarenga. Afonsinho Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Erivaldo Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Simão might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonsinho Alvarenga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. William Simão ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Simão in the 45th minute of play forced Eugenio's goalkeeper Afonsinho Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
Afonsinho Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Andrézinho Gaúcho hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Afonso Gonçalves was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 59th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 63 minutes, William Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manduri's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manduri were furious when Zé Carlos Sarmento was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of Manduri:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Eugenio:s goal. The referee gave Eugenio a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dorival Rezende, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Manduri's Egídio Carioca. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Eugenio's Cafu Macedo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Afonsinho Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Simão in the 97th minute of play. Chants of Eugenio echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Manduri had held the ball for most of the match.
