After 4 played minutes, Gouveia FC's Bruninho Fernandes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manuel Tande came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gouveia FC reached it. In the 6th minute, Caetano Toscano fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With his leg Nelsinho Peres managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Dark Team's Wanderson Araújo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Dark Team booed when Gouveia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dadá Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Toscano in the 13th minute of play forced Gouveia FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Reginaldo Félix came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Dark Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo Félix couldn't finish the play. Wanderson Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Caetano Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the game, one of Dark Team:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Gouveia FC a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José Vítor Paraibano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Dark Team's Manuel Tande. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wanderson Araújo got free with Nelsinho Peres in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute, Wanderson Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wanderson Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Nelsinho Peres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Gouveia FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernani Veiga to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Ernani Veiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Manuel Tande was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Caetano Toscano charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caetano Toscano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Dark Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Toscano to maneuver through the defense. Raí Batista's late challenge caught a Gouveia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raí Batista helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gouveia FC booed when Dark Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raí Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes in the game, Ernani Veiga fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Manuel Tande having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caetano Toscano in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelsinho Peres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wanderson Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caetano Toscano took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nelsinho Peres. Nelsinho Peres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Mateus Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Amauri Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Tande having to interfere. In the 82ndth minute of the game Caetano Toscano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gouveia FC's Nelsinho Peres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gouveia FC's Nelsinho Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Toscano in the 89th minute of play. Nelsinho Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 played minutes Gouveia FC got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Castro. Caetano Toscano struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Nelsinho Peres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dark Team.
