Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rony Mendonça kicked off to start the match. Frédson Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio Diniz in the 4th minute of the match. Rony Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rony Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 6 played minutes Locomotiva got a freekick which was hit by Rony Mendonça. 9 minutes into the match, Locomotiva's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Diniz came free, but Frédson Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rony Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Locomotiva's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Tasso came free, but Frédson Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laércio Diniz struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Frédson Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ermenegildo EC. The Locomotiva fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Locomotiva's Rony Mendonça looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Betinho Linares made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Valdir Albuquerque sent off a good shot on target. Marquinhos Correia hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdir Albuquerque got free with Betinho Linares in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rony Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Linares having to interfere. Frédson Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Valdir Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Linares having to interfere. Rony Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Betinho Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Betinho Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Betinho Linares came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Locomotiva's Rony Mendonça. But to his dismay, Rony Mendonça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 62nd match minute, Ermenegildo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute of the match Claudinei Queirós sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Betinho Linares skillfully saved the ball. If Rony Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimir Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Frédson Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ermenegildo EC's Betinho Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Albuquerque in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Valdir Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valdir Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Betinho Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rony Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Linares having to interfere. Rony Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Betinho Linares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rony Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Locomotiva's goalkeeper Frédson Lopes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roberto Proença. After a defensive mix-up in Locomotiva's zone, Vladimir Tasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Lopes came out of the goal and Vladimir Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Locomotiva were the better team. Locomotiva's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
