If Giovanni Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betinho Linares came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Jacana's Sandrinho Arce. But to his dismay, Sandrinho Arce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 12 minutes, Vladimir Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ermenegildo EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimir Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Ermenegildo EC's Vladimir Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Noel Rocha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marquinhos Correia hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Pedro Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Betinho Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Jacana's Marcos Proença got a free kick in the 27th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Jacana's zone, Vladimir Tasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noel Rocha came out of the goal and Vladimir Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Betinho Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Ceresso in the 36th minute of the match. Betinho Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Ceresso in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandrinho Arce in the 44th minute of play forced Ermenegildo EC's goalkeeper Betinho Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After some careless play in the Ermenegildo EC defense, Pedro Ceresso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Betinho Linares. The Ermenegildo EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Betinho Linares should have stopped the shot. Betinho Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 69 minutes of play Ermenegildo EC's Marquinhos Correia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Ermenegildo EC's Marquinhos Correia got a free kick in the 70th minute. Sandrinho Arce struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Betinho Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jacana. Betinho Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandrinho Arce in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute Vladimir Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Ceresso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vladimir Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betinho Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Arce in the 89th minute of play. Betinho Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandrinho Arce in the 95th minute of the match. If Sandrinho Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
