After a rather tough play, Jacana's Marcos Proença got a free kick in the 12th minute. Valdir Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Rocha having to interfere. Rony Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Noel Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdir Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 minutes, Gilson Maciel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Locomotiva and the Jacana players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 39 played minutes Locomotiva got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Maciel. If Pedro Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Marco do Valle's late challenge caught a Jacana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco do Valle helped the player get up and apologised. 52 minutes into the game, one of Locomotiva:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for Jacana. Fabiano Chaves stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Frédson Lopes. 2-1. 57 minutes into the game, Rony Mendonça recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Noel Rocha. Rony Mendonça showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 62nd minute, Ramiro Messias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rony Mendonça in the 65th minute of play. Valdir Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noel Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Mendonça in the 71st minute of the match. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jacana's goalkeeper Noel Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Pedro Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacana's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frédson Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Locomotiva getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Gilson Maciel hit a great ball. Sandrinho Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valdir Albuquerque's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Noel Rocha skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Noel Rocha stood somewhat misplaced when Rony Mendonça came free in front of goal and shot 2-3 to the left of him in the 93 minute. 96 minutes into the game, Marcos Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jacana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Locomotiva the free kick. Locomotiva's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
