Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cipriano Macedo got the match started through his kick off. Botupora FC's Luiz Fábio Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Macedo in the 3rd minute of play. Carlos Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Lamarao EC booed when Botupora FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cipriano Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Luiz Fábio Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Leopoldo Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botupora FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adriano Paes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, one of Lamarao EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lamarao EC. Adriano Paes had in the 13thth minute some difficulties stopping Carlos Seco's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 15th match minute, Lamarao EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Seco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 16th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 18th minute, Cipriano Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Fábio Pinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Adriano Paes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amílton Tavares in the 22nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Clemente Dias got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luiz Fábio Pinho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 34th minute, Wanderson Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amílton Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Paes having to interfere. With a little luck, Lamarao EC's Adriano Paes got control of the ball when Amílton Tavares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leopoldo Viana made a kick off. Carlos Seco, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Wanderson Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botupora FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lamarao EC the free kick. Wanderson Leite hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Igor Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Lamarao EC's Clemente Dias tried to score from far away in the 58th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Zézinho Baiano was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 66 minutes into the match, Amílton Tavares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adriano Paes. Lamarao EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amílton Tavares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Botupora FC's Tadeu Pombal got a free kick in the 69th minute. Luiz Fábio Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Macedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. If Amílton Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 74th minute Amílton Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zézinho Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute Leopoldo Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zézinho Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
