When José Vítor Aparecido fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Madrid's protests and gave José Vítor Aparecido a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes Real Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Lira. Pedro Paulo da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anísio Gonçalves in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yan Simão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Itamarandiba SS booed when Real Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aírton Paranaense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yan Simão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Paulo da Silveira got free with Paulinho da Costa in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute, Hortêncio Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramón Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho da Costa having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Pedro Paulo da Silveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulinho da Costa. Itamarandiba SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Paulo da Silveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Real Madrid's Ramón Borges slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulinho da Costa. That made the score 2-0 after 41 minutes of play. Ramón Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramón Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ramón Borges hit a great ball.

The corner led Real Madrid's Sérgio Bittencourt to fire away a dangerous shot which Paulinho da Costa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Pedro Paulo da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Paulinho da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ramón Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Paulo da Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sérgio Bittencourt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paulinho da Costa. Itamarandiba SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
