Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Baptista in the 6th minute of play forced Bugre's goalkeeper Olavo Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Bugre's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Baptista came free, but Olavo Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Taborda EC booed when Bugre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Délio Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gil Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Taborda EC's zone, Claudinei Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Massa came out of the goal and Claudinei Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiaguinho Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Taborda EC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Wilton Botelho hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Adrianinho Antunes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tiaguinho Massa. In the 34th minute Pedro Paulo Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiaguinho Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adrianinho Antunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiaguinho Massa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Taborda EC's Luisão Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 37th minute. Tiaguinho Massa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinei Marquez's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Adrianinho Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tiaguinho Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Pedro Luís de Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrianinho Antunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Pedro Luís de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taborda EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luís de Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Taborda EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Luís de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Bugre supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bugre would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
