The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dráusio Viana during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Altaneira AD getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Dráusio Viana hit a great ball. Walmir Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The referee gave Altaneira AD a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aluísio Donato, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Walmir Reis. 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Celsinho Prata kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Walmir Reis. That made the score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Altaneira AD's zone, Ludomir Golembiewski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson Mesquita came out of the goal and Ludomir Golembiewski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Fabiano Soeiro during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, Luiz Fabiano Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Digo Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emerson Mesquita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ludomir Golembiewski's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Walmir Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Walmir Reis didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 41st minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. In the 47th minute, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Digo Paulista fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celsinho Prata made a kick off. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Walmir Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Prata in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute Celsinho Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Digo Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Walmir Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Digo Paulista came free, but Walmir Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William Couto charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed William Couto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th match minute, Fortaleza Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Couto to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes in the game Aluísio Donato did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Sérgio Trigo. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Walmir Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Digo Paulista in the 83rd minute of play. Walmir Reis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Digo Paulista went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 88 minutes, Digo Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altaneira AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Digo Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Walmir Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Prata in the 91st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Celsinho Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altaneira AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Celsinho Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
