An unexpectedly hard shot by Délio Meira in the 4th minute of play forced Thiago FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Casal EC's Válbson de Castro got a free kick in the 8th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Casal EC's Délio Meira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Vergílio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 18th minute, Bernardo Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 minutes of play, Casal EC's Vivaldo Neves made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Elias Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Casal EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Mattos hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Délio Meira struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Reynaldo Vergílio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Casal EC. 34 minutes into the game, Casal EC's Elias Furtado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Vergílio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 38th minute, Délio Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Vergílio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 42nd minute, Lucas Paraíba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Vergílio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. When Gilberto Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Thiago FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Délio Meira made the kick off in the second half. Sílvio Luiz Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tibúrcio Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 57 minutes, Gilberto Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thiago FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Thiago FC booed when Casal EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Gilberto Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thiago FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tibúrcio Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorival Motta got free with Reynaldo Vergílio in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilberto Alcântara in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tibúrcio Mendes saved Casal EC from getting behind. A collision led to Casal EC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Délio Meira hit a great ball. In the 68th minute, Elias Furtado made a precise shot to the right of Reynaldo Vergílio. Thiago FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Reynaldo Vergílio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorival Motta in the 74th minute. Gilberto Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tibúrcio Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Hoffmann in the 78th minute of play. Dorival Motta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Reynaldo Vergílio made a huge save. Casal EC's Tibúrcio Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Alcântara in the 82nd minute of play. The supporters of Thiago FC booed when Casal EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 86 minutes, Gilberto Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thiago FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tibúrcio Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the game, Délio Meira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reynaldo Vergílio. Délio Meira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Casal EC played a much better game than Thiago FC and deserved their victory. The Thiago FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
