Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thomás Matorin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ernesto Quaresma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Thomás Matorin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Serafim de Castro let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 12th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Natã Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Roger Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Carbonita's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Loureiro came free, but Roger Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Chicão Marques was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atenas EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carbonita the free kick. Chicão Marques hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Atenas EC's Chicão Marques got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 23 played minutes, Carbonita's Víktor dos Santos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomás Matorin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carbonita reached it. Jaime Loureiro hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Vítor Quadros hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Serafim de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carbonita's goalkeeper Roger Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 47thth minute of the game Natã Leme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carbonita's Roger Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ernesto Quaresma to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Atenas EC booed when Carbonita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Serafim de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Carbonita's Roger Lima got control of the ball when Natã Leme tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atenas EC's Sandrinho Quaresma got a free kick in the 69th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Atenas EC's zone, Ernesto Quaresma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomás Matorin came out of the goal and Ernesto Quaresma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Natã Leme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roger Lima. Carbonita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Natã Leme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. If Jaime Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Carbonita's Ernesto Quaresma in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atenas EC's goalie prevented a goal. Arí Maia hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Atenas EC's Toninho de Barros tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Natã Leme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jaime Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Atenas EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
